Holidays and weight loss go together like peanut butter and mustard. Sorry if peanut butter and mustard sandwiches are your “thing”.
The holiday season brings great opportunities to get together with people you love and create memories.
Those special memories and moments that happen during the holiday season are often associated with and happening in conjunction with food.
Delicious, rich, buttery, sweet, juicy food.
And I realize that if you’re already struggling with creating healthy habits around how you eat, trying to lose weight, or improve how you view food, this time of the year may be especially difficult.
So I want to bring you this story of my guest Martha VanCamp.
Martha began dieting when she was nine years old. NINE!
And from there on had a complicated and toxic relationship with food and how she viewed her body.
Fast forward to her lowest point after she had three kids, was tipping the scale at 265, and feeling like she’d failed herself.
At forty years old, Martha turned her life completely around.
She lost over 100 pounds and is now on a passionate mission to help other people get their relationship with food right to change their lives too.
Her story is amazing. And she wants you to know that if SHE can create healthy habits and a healthy relationship with food, that YOU can too.
I hope her story will give you a little confidence boost and not make you feel guilty this holiday season as you navigate the beautiful spreads of holiday goodies, snacks, and meals that accompany your joyful get-togethers.
You have the power to make small choices that will add up to a healthy relationship with food.
