When did you know your family was complete? Maybe you haven’t wrestled with that question yet or talked about it with your spouse or in your prayers.
Inevitably, you’ll reach a day when you ponder if you’re “done” having kids.
After 8 years of being a family of four, my guest today followed God’s call to adopt a baby.
With school-aged children, time for herself firmly set in the daily routines, and a full schedule of projects and activities, Erica Willis obeyed God’s calling. She pressed into the vision God put on her heart to grow her family in this next season.
She shares her motherhood journey with each of her very different biological children. And also the journey she and her family have been on with the adoption of their third child.
More about the guest

She’s the founder and Director of The Fives, an international prayer ministry.
She’s been a leader in her local church for more than 20 years, teaches weekly in the women’s ministry at New River Fellowship in Hudson Oaks, Texas, and is a popular blogger and speaker.
On Saturdays, you can catch her and her husband Joey forcing their children Tristan and Reese to shop with them at local flea markets or enduring hours of intense yard work to make that flower bed “just so.”
We talk about
- How God put it on her heart to adopt a baby
- The unexpected things she learned through the adoption process
- And how she and her family have prepared to bring a new baby into their home after 8 years of being a family of four
