In August I introduced the idea of focusing on three main areas to discover your identity as a mom.
After having kids, a lot changes. And it’s common to have some struggles trying to understand who you are as a mother and not get lost in the role of “mom”.
Based on my experience, I also know there’s a way to navigate those challenges and that friction to get to a place where you’re discovering your ever-evolving identity as a mom.
That’s what I’m talking about in my solo episodes 54, 58, and this episode.
Giving Yourself Permission
So far, I’ve talked about giving yourself permission to be a new version of yourself and that uncomfortable transition into motherhood in Episode 54, “Struggling With Identity in Motherhood”.
Finding People Who Support You
Then in episode, 58, “Where is Your Village?” I talked about finding your support system as a step to discovering and connecting with your identity in motherhood.
Taking Imperfect Action
Now in this episode, I’m talking about the thing that makes THE BIGGEST shift in connecting with your identity in motherhood, based on my experience.
And really, I think makes the most difference in pretty much anything in life…
Taking action!
Well let me put it like this – taking imperfect action.
I’m speaking on this as someone who loves to play it safe and may have some struggles with perfectionism.
I talk about
- How to combat perfectionism
- Why taking action is the most important step in discovering your identity as a mom
- 3 ways that you can take action and get to know yourself better this week
- And a story about why you will never see me in the Cirque de Soliel
