Knowing the Right Time to Pursue Your Dreams with Merritt Onsa

Gotcha Mama podcast episode 85 – Knowing the Right Time to Pursue Your Dreams with Merritt Onsa

How do you know it’s the right time to pursue your dreams?

You may be thinking, “oh, I’ll wait until my kids are in school” to pursue my dreams or “next year, when it’s not so wild, I’ll start that thing I’m so passionate about”.

Friend, we know those are just excuses. Easy outs to explain to yourself why you aren’t pursuing your dreams right now.

AND also, side note, you and I know that “next year” may be even wilder than this year so don’t play that card.

Okay, hold on. Let’s back up a minute.

First, how do you even know what your dream IS?

Did you know all along? Did God drop it in your heart in a moment – BAM!?

Or do you still wonder and struggle to figure out what your dream is? By the way, you’re not alone if this is you.

No matter where you land in the “dreamer spectrum” (just made that up), you will find all kinds of encouragement and wisdom from this conversation with my guest Merritt Onsa.

Merritt is the host of the Devoted Dreamers podcast.

She’s a trail guide for the passionate and creative Christian woman who wants to get over her fear of failure, comparison, and imposter syndrome so she can get moving on her God-shaped dream without wasting more time second-guessing herself, procrastinating, or trying to be perfect.

Sound like you?!

Merritt believes it would be a tragedy your God-shaped dreams stayed hidden. So she helps you to unpack and sift through what God has uniquely gifted you. And speaks truth and love over you as you navigate the journey forward.

If you want to hear more from me and Merritt, you’re in luck!

Hop over to the Devoted Dreamers podcast where Merritt interviews ME.

We go deep about pursuing what God has for us when it’s uncomfortable. Eek!

In that episode we talk about:

  • How You don’t have to have it all figured out to start pursuing your God-shaped dream
  • Taking messy action is an act of obedience
  • How to “just trust God” while taking uncomfortable steps forward
  • An important lesson I’ve learned just by using my skills and gifts.

More About the Guest

Merritt hosts weekly conversations on The Devoted Dreamers Podcast talking with Christian women about their dreams, their fears, and how God has transformed their faith in the process of attempting courageous endeavors.

We talk about

  • How what she learned through her motherhood journey also helped her to listen to her heart in pursuing her God-shaped dream as a mom
  • What her God-shaped dream is
  • How she gets past fears and insecurities to pursue her dream
  • How we can live out what God has called us to do without putting too much value on what WE are doing
  • Letting dreams percolate for the right timing

More about the Gotcha Mama Podcast:

The Gotcha Mama Podcast is where we share honest stories of the joys and struggles of mom-life with young kids.

Each week host Amanda Bennett interviews a mom about topics ranging from awkwardly making mom friends, to chasing BIG dreams and finding purpose, to managing crippling anxiety and depression. You’ll hear stories from moms like you with the purpose to inspire, encourage, and entertain you.

We understand that motherhood can be lonely and make you doubt yourself. The Gotcha Mama Podcast exists to let you know that you are not alone as a busy mom of young kiddos, no matter what you’re dealing with.

The show is all about tearing down our insecurities as moms by honestly sharing our stories and a little of what we’ve learned along the way.

We believe it’s a whole lot better riding the rollercoaster of motherhood together!
