Comparison and positive body image. It can be a constant struggle for moms. I’m guilty of thinking negative things about my body and feeling insecure about my cellulite or my flabby arms or the stretched out skin on my stomach.
But having a positive body image is not just looking at other mom’s bodies and loving your own. It’s just as much about looking at your body before you gave birth and loving the body you have now postpartum.
It can be difficult to accept that our bodies change and become almost unrecognizable from what we once knew. But here’s the good news: your body is NOT inferior or ‘less than’ the body you had before babies. Your body is still capable of amazing things. You can still be strong and healthy.
I’m finishing out the month talking to other amazing mom podcasters by chatting with Megan Dahlman this week. She is the host of the very popular Strong Mommas podcast.
Megan is a trainer, a nutrition coach, and a Christian mom. And she’s passionate about helping other moms discover peace and freedom in their body.
After working in the fitness industry for over a decade, she finally got fed up and knew there must be a way to pursue a healthy and fit body as a mom without dragging vanity and obsession into it.
Megan believes that women deserve to be coached well, told the truth, and carefully guided towards being strong, healthy, and content in their bodies.
Her mission with Strong Mommas is to guide women away from obsession, shame, and guilt and point them toward a lifestyle of health and fitness that brings freedom.
She’s convinced that your exercise nutrition habits could be a catalyst for a closer relationship with the Lord. Hold on to your yoga pants, my friend because you’re going to feel like you’re going to church in this episode. It’s awesome!

She has 15 years of training and coaching athletes and moms. And he has a heart for women with poor body image – those who have spent decades at war with their body/exercise/food.
